Agnes Hewetson

Agnes Hewetson’s little sampler features a delightfully large basket of fruit flanked by flowering plants, hearts, and crowns.  She used a combination of cotton and fine wool threads.  Her design is worked almost entirely in cross stitch with the exception of the satin stitches she used in the horizontal band at the bottom.  These stitches can easily be worked in cross stitch if you prefer.

Stitched on 36 count Lakeside Linen’s Vintage Light Examplar with Weeks Dye Works, The Gentle Art, and DMC threads.

Stitch count: 108w x 131h

Stitched size: 6"w x 7.25"h
