Klara Kriegel Buren Antique Sampler

A terrific, undated redwork marking sampler worked in wool threads on loosely woven linen. The linen is in good condition - still quite bright, sound and supple.  The threads are beautifully bright and intact.  Klara used cross and straight stitches to work a large variety of decorative bands.  The alphabet and her name are worked in cross stitch.  The sampler is hemmed on the top and bottom.  The sides are selvage.  There is a faint blue stain at the top and bottom center, which I have shown in the photos.  Although undated, most likely dates to the early 1900s. 

This nice, large sampler measures 22”w x 14”h.
