Sarah Barrell finished her finely stitched religious sampler on December 8, 1834.  She used silk threads and a variety of stitches to depict flowers, fruit baskets, fir trees, birds, and bees.  Religious verse, titled “To Those That Believe” is worked in the center.  The linen is a bit darker in the center.  That and the small tack holes around the edges are evidence of its having been tacked to a wood stretcher at some point.  There are some areas of loss to the linen around the edges.  Color palette is primarily green brown, gold, and cream.  The colors remain fairly strong.
