Sweet little darning sampler worked in red, cream, and pale gold thread on the gauziest of linen (see last photo). The red and cream threads are cotton and the gold is silk. Age related discoloration and soiling.  The linen seems quite sound and although some of the stitches are a bit wonky there doesn’t appear to be any stitch loss. Laid or mounted on a white background shows it to best effect. It measures approximately 7.5” square.
